House Muhr Salzburgerland

This cosy wooden cottage is located in the small village Muhr, between Salzburgerland and Carinthia. Here you will enjoy the fresh air of the austrian mountains combined with the great colours of the alpine meadows, as the house is located in the middle of the National Parc High Tauern. The next village is St Michael im Lungau, at approx 15min drive. Here you will find not only plenty of shops, restaurants and bars but also the skiing area Grosseck - Speiereck (50km slopes) and the skiing area of Aineck - Katschberg (70km slopes). Due to the high altitude (1100m) of the region, there are very good facilities for cross country skiing. Of course, a walk in the fresh cnispering snow is also one of the favorites in the area. As the valley is just south of the High Tauern mountains, the summers are very sunny and dry. Many summer activities are available such as a good hike into the mountains or on one of the paved routes in the Lungau, cycle the Murrad track (from the source of the river the Mur 300km down stream), play golf in St Michael, visit the warm lakes in Carinthia (just 40min drive) or even drive to the adriatic coast in about 3hrs!

The cottage was built in 1945, further extended with a bathroom and toilet in the seventies. The roof was renewed in 1998 and the cottage was newly isolated. Electrical heating is from 2001. The cottage has wooden window fences, floorings are made of laminate or carpetry and the bathroom and toilet are tiled. The cottage has a very common style, but a nice ambiance. With easy alterings, you can adapt it to your own taste.
